ADELEKE’S VISIT TO TINUBU NOT LINKED TO APC DEFECTION, CAMPAIGN COUNCIL SAYS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Imole Campaign Council has dismissed reports that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu was aimed at facilitating his defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The council’s Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee, Bamidele Salam, said the visit was part of the political tradition of meeting the President after off-cycle elections.

Salam said the issue of Adeleke joining the APC did not arise during the meeting. He explained that the discussion focused on peace, security and the development of Osun State following the recently concluded election.

The council thanked President Tinubu for receiving Adeleke and his delegation and reaffirmed the governor’s commitment to serving the people of Osun State.

It urged supporters and the public to disregard reports suggesting that Adeleke is planning to defect to the APC.
