SECURITY: POLICE PARADES 14 SUSPECTS FOR VARIOUS OFFENCES IN KWARA STATE                                                                                                    19-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                           Kwara state Police Command has has arrested fourteen suspects over alleged criminal conspiracy,armed robbery, Cultism, and Culpable homicide.

Parading the suspect at the Police headquarters Ilorin, the state Commisssioner of police, Victor Olaiya said arms and other dangerous weapons were also recovered from the suspects.

According to him on the robbery issue one Opadiran Yetunde of Egbejila area of Ilorin reported that about four men invaded her residence and carted away valuables worth millions of naira.

He said investigations into the case led to the recovery of her vehicle in Lagos from one Abdulsalam Nurudeen Saka and Segun.

The commissioner said in a similar case a notorious armed robbery suspect Jamiu Idowu Aje and Shittu Sherrif Aka Abule were arrested over case of alleged criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of fire arms and being members of secrete cult.

He said during interrogation the suspects confessed to have participated in series of armed robbery.

Mr Olaiya said in October this year three suspects were also arrested over Cultism and a cut to size locally made single barrel gun was recovered .

He said the other suspects were arrested following a complaint by a bread seller at Oja Oba round about of attack by an armed gang.

The commissioner said during the attack the suspects shot two children of the bread seller in which one was injured and the other Mariam Abdullahi Sarumi fifteen years old died on the spot.

He said all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
