FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PROMISES TO RESUSCITATE THE RUBBER INDUSTRY FOR ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION                                                                 26-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The federal government has promised to resuscitate the nation’s rubber industry for economic diversification of the country.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka- Anite announced this in Abuja when she granted audience to the Secretary-General of the International Rubber Study Group ahead of this year’s Summit

She noted that the development of the rubber value chain would resuscitate the country’s rubber industry, multiplying a positive effect on the overall Nigerian economy which is geared towards job creation, increased foreign exchange earnings and economic well being of the people.

Dr.Uzoka-Anite expressed optimism that the visit would help to identify the challenges facing the rubber value- chain and exploring strategic ways to proffer lasting solutions to these challenges”
The Minister also use the forum to inaugurated Local Organising Committee for the upcoming event.

The Secretary General, International Rubber Study Group, Joseph Adelagan who said the rubber industry has the potential to attract the right investment to Nigeria, identified lack of access to fund as factors hindering optimal service delivery.
