3 SUSPECTED FAKE OPERATIVES OF EFCC ARRESTED BY NASARAWA STATE POLICE COMMAND FOR ALLEGED ROBBERY AND ABDUCTION                                                                                                                                   01-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Three Persons suspected to be Fake operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command for alleged Robbery and abduction.

A statement by the Command’s public relations officer, Deputy superintendent of police DSP Ramhan Nansel says the suspects were apprehended following a distress call that four persons who posed as EFCC personnel using a Toyota Corolla car had robbed some students of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa at Samakwe Lodge behind Government College, Nasarawa LGA and Abducted one Adudu Kingsley, a National Diploma two Student of the same Polytechnic.

According to the statement, Police operatives gave the suspects a hot chase, and a road block was mounted at Laminga junction to stop the suspects from escaping with the victim, but they hit the barrier and fled.

The statement says, luck however ran out of one of the suspects as he was caught and beaten by an angry mob before the arrival of the Police while the others fled.

The statement notes that the suspect was rescued from the mob by the Police and rushed to Primary Health Care, Laminga, where he died while receiving treatment.

It adds that the operational vehicle of the suspects was recovered and identification cards of the fleeing members of the syndicate were recovered.

The statement further shows that three other suspected members of the gang have been arrested.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has ordered the transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation Department CID Lafia for further investigations assuring that, they will be charged to Court soon as investigation is concluded.
