Group seeks Zazzau Emir’s partnership to boost education, empowerment initiatives

An Islamic group, Islamic Trust of Nigeria (ITN), has sought the partnership of Zazzau Emirate Council to boost its education, awareness and empowerment initiatives.

Chairman of ITN’s Management Board, Prof. Sule Muhammad, sought the partnership when he visited the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Bamalli, Wednesday in Zaria.

Mohammed said the visit was aimed at seeking royal blessing, updating the council on the activities of the group and soliciting for its support those of other philanthropists toward improving the facilities at its centre.

He said that the objective of the ITN was to create awareness among Muslims and educate them on how to meet the current challenges and live within their means.

“ITN, which was established in the 70s as a second-generation Islamic organisation, has built model nursery, primary and secondary schools.

“With the assistance of Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the organisation had constructed a Technical Training Centre with the aim of addressing unemployment in the society.

“It had also established the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), with the aim of giving adults the opportunity to advance their knowledge in Arabic, French and English languages,’’ Mohammed said.

In his remarks, the emir commended the group for updating the council on its programmes and activities through an executive summary.

“We will study the executive summary and invite you for further discussions on areas that require additional support toward improving the vision and goals of the centre,’’ Bamalli said.
