NEMA-KB: NEMA SUPPORTS OVER THOUSANDS FLOODING VICTIMS IN…………..

The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, has supported over twenty two thousand victims of flood in Kebbi State with livelihood equipment, non food items as well as agricultural inputs.
The Director General of the agency, Mustapha Habib Ahmed, stated this at the Flag Off of the distribution of Special National Economic and Livelihood Emergency Intervention to Persons Affected by the 2022 Flood and the most vulnerable persons in Kebbi State.
Represented by the Head of the intervention SNELEI, Ibrahim Yusuf, stated that, after the flood incident the agency conducted damage and loss assessment and relief items approved by the Federal Government were delivered across the states to complement initial intervention by the state governments.
He said, the intervention was also expected to drive the sustainable socio-economic resilience of the targeted most vulnerable individuals and therefore advised the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items to Improve their socio-economic conditions.
The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, represented by the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar, commended the federal government for the support to the Flood victims so as to cushion the effect.
He called on the beneficiaries to utilize the items given to them to Improve on their socioeconomic wellbeing.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the federal government and assured to utilise the items judiciously.
