The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Moses Teibowei had earlier stated that the Glory Drive Road began during the Administration of Doctor Goodluck Jonathan as Governor following the award of phase one of the project.

He explained that phase two of the 10.2 kilometer project was first awarded by the Timipre Sylva Administration to FAKS Engineering but later abandoned but re-awarded by the Governor Diri’s Administration on February 4, 2021 to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation and completed at a cost of thirty billion Naira, explaining that phase three of the project had also been awarded.
