NCAA TO REVIEW AND AUDIT AVIATION FUEL MARKETERS AND PROCESSES: SAYS DG                                                                   22-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                           The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has inaugurated a committee to review and audit Aviation fuel marketers and all processes involved in fueling aircrafts from the source to fuelling points at the airports.

The Director General, Captain Nuhu Musa made this known in Abuja at the inauguration of the joint NCAA committee of all aviation fuel activities in Nigeria.

He said the thirty-five member committee had the core mandate to identify the root causes of aviation fuel contamination and to proffer solutions and recommendations that would improve the level of safety in the aviation sector.

Captain Musa who was represented by the Director, Operations, Licensing and training standards, Captain Ibrahim Danbazau said the agency had launched intensivs investigation into reported cases of aviation fuel contamination and had weeded out four non licensed Fuelers and identified five marketers with expired licenses, putting an end to their activities.

The DG NCAA, Captain Nuhu Musa said an All Operators Letter had been issued to operators reminding them of the need to comply with its requirements noting that the agency had heightened its surveillance to ensure complete compliance.

The Director, Air Worthiness Standard, NCAA, Mr. Abatan Gbolahan said the job of the committee was crucial to the mandate of the agency which was to ensure the safety and comfort of the flying public and charged them to achieve the target within the 60 days period assigned to them.
