HOMICIDE: TWO ARRAIGNED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING THEIR UNCLE                                                             10-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       Two accused Persons Musa Idris and Aliyu Idris have been arraigned before an Ilorin Magistrate court over alleged criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

The offences contravened sections 97 and 221 of the penal code.

According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), presented by the prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni the children criminally conspired to attack their uncle, Mohammed Abubakar, 54, and machete him to death in Kaiama local government area of kwara state.

The report said Investigation conducted at SCID, Ilorin, revealed that the suspects wanted to attack their father over a little misunderstanding which led to the intervention of the uncle.

It explained that the father took his cow for grazing and returned late only to discover that his children had macheted his younger brother to death.

The FIR noted that the suspects confessed to the crime that they were not happy with their uncle for not allowing them to attack their father which made them kill him the Uncle.

In his ruling, Magistrate A Issa ordered the accused Persons to be remanded in correctional service, and adjourned the matter till November 1, 2023 for mention.
