GOVERNORS YAHAYA BELLO, DAPO ABIODUN, BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU AND HYACINTH ALIA, SENATOR GEORGE AKUME, CONGRATULATE PRESIDENT TINUBU                                                                                                                  26-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and Father Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, have congratulated President Tinubu on his victory against the PDP and the LP at the Supreme Court.

Reacting to the verdict in Abuja, the Governors and SGF appealed to the opposition sheath their sword and support the government, stressing its success is for the good of all.

They commended INEC, whose reputation they said had never been in doubt.

They observed that the President could now be focused on the task of governance, as the distractions deterring him had been put to rest.

Similarly, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Tajudeen Abbas, advised the presidential candidates of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that of the LP, Mr. Peter Obi, to take heart over the loss of their appeals challenging the victory of President Tinubu at the Supreme Court.

Interacting with newsmen after meeting the President in Abuja, the Speaker urged the opposition candidates to join hands with the President to build a better nation.

Also praising the Supreme Court for the verdict, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Sani Musa, observed that there was no victor and no vanquished in the verdict of the Court, which revalidated the election of President Tinubu.

He advised Nigerians not to castigate the opposition for taking their grievances to court, describing it as the right move made for the peace and stability of the country.
