FG PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO EMPOWERING RURAL WOMEN                                                                         26-11-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Minister for Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye, says the administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to empowering rural women to enable them contribute immensely to the socio-economic development of the country.
The Minister stated this in Abuja at the sharing of start-up kit to over one thousand women trained by Brighter Future Initiative in collaboration with Albarka Women in Da’awah Foundation
The minister represented by the Special Adviser Mr. Adaji Usman, explained that the country stand to benefit more if women are self reliant.

The Chairperson of the event an Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dr Aishatu Abubakar Baju, said the impact of insecurity has been more on women and children, hence the need to empower women.

The Convener of the event, Mr. Fadlullah Salihu emphasized that the empowerment was to reduce the rate of poverty among women and reduce youth restiveness.
Some of the beneficiaries while thanking the initiators of the program called on government and private organizations to always support such gesture of empowering women and youth
