NIGER, KOGI AREA COMMAND OF NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE INTERCEPTS 11 VEHICLES WORTH 56.6M NAIRA         28-11-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Niger Kogi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service says it has recorded seizures and detentions of eleven exotic vehicles with cumulative duty paid value stood at over fifty six point six million naira.

Customs Comptroller incharge of the command Busayo Oluwagbemiga Kadejo stated this while displaying the seized items and revenue collection by the Niger Kogi Area Command held at the Command’s headquarters in Minna.

Mr Busayo Kadejo explained that the interception of a smuggled Range Rover Land Rover twenty nineteen model with diplomatic vehicle registration number plate with it’s concomitant and dangerous security implication necessitates the media briefing.

He also recalled this year that the Niger Kogi Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service arrested and handed over three hundred and seventeen packages of compressed Cannabis Sativa weighing two hundred and fifty three point s ix kilograms with an estimated street value of over twenty million naira.

According to him despite the fact that the command has no Seaport Airport Bonded terminal Excusable factory with only border domiciled in the Command at Babanna in Niger state the Federal Government’s directive on border closure is still in force at Babanna saying that the command still stands shoulder high in making her impact felt.

On revenue generation Mr Busayo Kadejo explained that his abled office and men of the  command were able to realised over ten million naira this month.

He also commended the positive role of providing an enabling environment by the Comptroller General Nigeria Customs Service Mr Adewale Adeniyi and his team as well as the two Governor’s of Niger and Kogi states which he said had made their work a little bit easier and a huge success.

Mr Busayo Kadejo apart from applauding Journalists for discharging their duties deligently however warned smugglers and criminal elements no matter how highly placed to desist otherwise they will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
