FG PAYS 50% COST OF NIGERIANS TAKING LUXURY BUSES FROM THE 21ST OF DECEMBER TO 4TH JANUARY, 2024                                                           20-12-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Federal Government is to bear 50 percent cost of Nigerians taking luxury buses to their states, from the 21st of this month to 4th January, next year.

The government has also said travelling by rail within the period is free of charge.

Briefing State House correspondents on magnanity, the Chairman of the Transport Committee saddled with the responsibility, Dr. Dele Alake, said the objective was to bring succour to the masses during the yelutide.

“In recognition of the Economic situation of the country, which the President is working har to turn around, President Tinubu wants Nigerians to be able to travel within Nigeria to wherever they want to go to meet their loved ones without the extra burden of paying exorbitantly for inter-state public transportation”, he explained.

He said the President had directed security agencies to ensure that the holiday period was safe.

“We implore everyone to be law-abiding, be security conscious, be our brothers’ keeper, extend every goodwill to our families, friends, and neighbours. We should continue to work within our spheres of influence to make our country the very best we all desire her to be” Dr. Alake stressed.

Dr. Alake urged Nigerians to appreciate the gesture by contributing to the efforts at changing the fortunes of the country.
