NPC LAUNCHES THE 2023/2024 NIGERIA DEMOGRAPHIC AND HEALTH SURVEY NDHS IN NIGER STATE                                                                                       04-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The National Population Commission NPC has launched the twenty twenty three twenty twenty four Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey NDHS in Niger state with a promised to maintain high standards of excellence and precision that has defined the survey they have conducted over the years.

The survey which  has started in December last year in some parts of Niger state by its twelve personnel across the state is expected to be concluded in April this year.

Federal Commissioner National Population Commission incharge of Niger state Malam Muhammad Dattijo Usman who stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna said for over three decades the NPC in collaboration with key partners has deligently implemented the NDHS consistently raising the bar for demographic and health data collection in Nigeria.

Represented by the state Director National Population Commission Nma Alhaji Shehu the Federal Commissioner explained that the objective of NDHS is to provide data supporting evaluation needs for maternal and child health and family planning programmes enabling evidence based planning and resource allocation.

Malam Muhammad Dattijo Usman however  reminded Nigerlites that the launch of NDHS is not just a survey but an instrument of transformation a compass guiding us towards a future where health disparities are reduced gender equality promoted and where every Nigerian can thrive.

He commended both the Federal and Niger state government other ministries as well as development partners for their support which he said was responsible for most of their success stories.

In his remarks Niger state Coordinator NDHS Sani Auwal Suleiman maintained that despite the problem of insecurity in some local government areas of Mariga, Rafi and Mashegu among others they are doing everything possible even with the use of security agencies and vigilante to discharge their duties deligently.

Technical Adviser to the Federal Commissioner and former Director NPC Alh Nda Ali Abdullahi commended Journalists whom he described as partners in progress for adequate coverage of their activities and called for more to succeed.
