AFCON: GANDUJE CALLS FOR SUPPORT FOR SUPER EAGLES’ VICTORY AGAINST ANGOLA 01-02-24
By Sadiq Aminu The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar-Ganduje, has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles have the wherewithal to emerge winners of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Speaking when he received members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of Miss Football Organisation of Nigeria at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, Ganduje said as an ardent football fan, he have been monitoring the performance of the Super Eagles with keen interest.
He urged Nigerians to continue to pray for victory for the Super Eagles in the match against Angola, up to semi final and the final stage.
“Coincidentally since I am the grand patron of supporters club, I am using my position to tell you that since begining of this Africa cup nation, there is no match that I have not watched. I can tell you who is who from the team and also to inform you tomorrow by 6 p.m Nigeria is playing against Angola.
“We know our defence is very strong because we have only conceded only one goal. A what we require is the middle, our forward is also fantastic.
He described the decision by the Amb Moses Ebahor led LOC to organise the APC National Cup 2024 for youths across the nation as well thought out since it was in consonance with the manifesto other APC.
Ganduje revealed that the party under his leadership will soon establish three secretariat for the youths wing, women women wing and the physically challenged people’s wing.
The Chairman of the local organizing committee, Ambassador Moses Ebahor, who presented customized Jerseys and Tracksuits to Ganduje and members of the National Working Committee (NWC), said the participants would lock horns with each other in the six geopolitical zones of the country while the finals is billed to take place in Abuja after the Ramadan fasting period in March this year.
