ZAMFARA GOVT TO SPEND OVER SIX BILLION NAIRA ON ROAD PROJECTS IN MARADUN 20-04-24
By Sadiq Aminu In it’s effort of transforming the rural areas, Zamfara state government is to spend over six billion Naira for the construction of roads in Maradun local government area of the state.
The Director General,
Media and communication, Zamfara State, Nuhu Salihu Anka disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau the state capital.
The statement said the roads to be constructed are the Maradun – Magami- Faru and Maradun – Makera roads, in order to ease the transportation of rural people in the area.
Other projects to be executed in the 2024 budget in Maradun local government include the rehabilitation of government secondary school Gora Namaye, the upgrading of Maradun general Hospital, the construction of offices for mobile squadron, a magistrate court and residential buildings among others.
It added that, Governor Dauda Lawal also launched the distribution of fertiliser and other agricultural facilities to farmers of the area under the Fadama ||| programme.
He assured the farmers of the area of his government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector for it’s growth and development and requested the beneficiaries to take this advantage to increase their production.
Speaking earlier, the Sole Administrator of the area, Alhaji Yahaya Giwa Maradun showed his appreciation and that of the people of the area to the governor for solving the parennial water scarcity they have been facing for decades.
In his remarks, the Emir of Maradun, Sarkin Kaya, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Tambari, who described the governor as an embodiment of unity, peace and development, thanked him for what he has been doing to not only Maradun but the state at large.
