EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, NCPC, WARNS GROUND HANDLERS AND AIRLINES OVER CONTRAVENING STANDARDS                                                                   06-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite has warned ground handlers and airlines over contravening standards ahead of the forthcoming pilgrimage exercise.

Bishop Adegbite said, there will be no compromise and the very best in terms of service will be offered to Nigerian pilgrims.

The Executive Secretary who stated this during a visit by the Acting Director of the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Rahila Isa-Baita emphasised that there would be stiffer penalties for defaulters as the commission would partner with only those who are ready to work and project a positive image of the country.

Bishop Adegbite also noted that dollar cards will be used during the exercise on Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and Point of Sales (POS) devices, in line with the new directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria rather than dollar bills.

Acting Director of the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Rahila Isa-Baita raised concerns over unhealthy competition in the territory for pilgrims.

According to Mrs Isa-Baita, the Commission should exclusively focus on coordination and oversight whilst the board harvests the pilgrims.

Due to the ongoing conflict between the Isreali’s and Palestinians, Jerusalem has been excluded from the forthcoming pilgrimage which will be observed in Greece and Rome.
