KACRAN PRESIDENT LAUDS PULAKU INITIATIVE, CALLS FOR RECLAIMING OF CATTLE ROUTES                                                                                                    16-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      AThe National President Kullen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria KACRAN, Khalil Bello, has called on the Federal government to incorporate the reclaiming of cattle routes into the Pulaku initiative of the present administration.

He equally urged the Federal government to prioritise provision of portable water for pastoralist and their livestock in the initiative.

Malam Bello made the call during a media briefing at the NUJ Press Centre in Maiduguri.

He lauded President Bola Tinubu for initiating the Pulaku project, which according to him, will address the perennial farmer-harder conflict in parts of Northern Nigeria and will equally boost food security.

According to Malam Khalil Bello, the briefing is part of activities lined up for the national conference on peace and unity which is critical to the nation’s stability and progress.

The President of Kullen Allah cautioned members of the association nationwide, to refrain from any form of protest which is capable of snowballing to acts of vandalism and lawlessness.

“With a focus on enhancing our security system and maintaining peace, KACRAN calls upon its members to avoid demonstrations. While peaceful protests are a constitutional right, there exists the risks of such events being co-opted by malicious individuals seeking to cause disorder and damage ” Bello maintained.

He also commended Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum for setting up a committee to foster peace between cattle rearers and farmers and the North East Development for executing developmental projects to internally displaced persons across the region.
