KDSG DISTRIBUTES FOOD PALLIATIVES TO OVER 1000 INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN KAJURU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA                                                                                           03-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         Kaduna State Government has commenced the distribution of food palliatives to over one thousand Internally Displaced Persons who have been displaced by banditry and other forms of insecurity in Kajuru Local Government Area.

Deputy Governor of the State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe while flagging off the distribution in Kajuru LGA said government is determined to create a safe and prosperous environment for all and will not rest until the threat of banditry is eradicated.

Dr Balarabe represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff in her office, Mr James Kanyip noted that, as a government, they have a duty to ensure and guarantee the welfare and well-being of it people, especially during these challenging times.

She said Governor Uba Sani understands their pains and sufferings that have been caused by the unfortunate events, and he is committed to providing aid, succour, and support to those that have been affected.

“To those who have been impacted by these events, I want to offer hope and encouragement. Your current situation is temporary, and we are tirelessly working to bring an end to it. Do not lose hope or let your resilience be broken. Together, we will overcome this challenge and look towards a better future”

According to Dr Balarabe, the consignment of the palliatives distributed comprised two trucks of high-quality, hygienically processed maize flour and rice.

Addressing the IDP’s, the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency KADSEMA, Dr Usman Mazadun said about two hundred and ninety thousand displaced persons have been recorded across 12 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

Mr Mazadun explained that In Chikun local government, the issue of insecurity has affected 134 communities and 26,345 displaced individuals while In Birnin Gwari, 84 affected communities and 70,893 displaced.

According to him, the distribution of the palliative is not just an act of aid but a reaffirmation of their commitment to the SUSTAIN Agenda of it visionary leader, Malam Uba Sani which is a comprehensive blueprint for the safety, security, and prosperity of people.

Dr Usman Mazadun also revealed that In the next few weeks, government would extend the distribution to all the affected communities in the 12 Local Governments identified.

Speaking with Africa 247 correspondent, Kajuru local government Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Gajere expressed optimism that, IDP’s in Kajuru local government are the first beneficiaries of the palliative.

Mr Gajere who lamented on the increases of insecurity in the Council , stressed the need for more intervention to address the major challenges of insecurity badevelling their communities.

“We have IDP’S in batches, they scattered themselves to get themselves accommodated in various places. if we said we want to maintain IDP’s we cannot feed them as a local government ”

In remark, the Agwan Kufana Chiefdom, Mr Titus Dauda expressed sincerest appreciation to the Governor, and his esteemed team for their proactive efforts in ensuring that relief reaches those who need it the most.

He stated that the act of kindness has not only provided essential sustenance but has also strengthened the bond between the government and the people.

“We assure the government of our unwavering support and cooperation as we navigate through these challenging times together. Let us continue to work hand in hand towards building a more resilient and prosperous community for all”

The beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to Kaduna State for the provision of the palliative which includes Rice and Semovita.
