AT LEAST 5 INMATES WITH MINOR CASES AT BIDA CORRECTION CENTER IN NIGER STATE TO ENJOY FREE LITIGATION IN COURT                                                                                  12-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                          At least five Inmates with minor cases at the Bida Correction Center in Niger State are to enjoy free litigation in court.

The Samari Nupe traditional group announced this during a visit to the correctional center as part of Edil Fitril celebrations.

The Leader of the group, Sarkin Samari Nupe Alhaji Baba Suleiman said it was unfortunate that Inmates with minor cases and less fines are left behind bars without trial.

Alhaji Baba Suleiman observed that some of them were imprisoned as a result of injustice metted to them hence the need to assist them to seek redress.

The Samari Nupe group which usually visit the Correction Center occasionally presented the Inmates with food, Soap, Magi, cash donations and other valuable items.

The officer in charge of the Bida Correction Center, SP Musa Garba Mohammed represented by Senior Superintendent Abubakar Abdulkadir while appreciating the group for counseling the Prisoners said it takes extraordinary kindness and Philanthropism to remember those in jail.

Twenty out of the sixty five Inmates are awaiting trail while forty five are Convicts.
