KWSG TASKFORCE RAIDS FILLING STATIONS IN ILORIN, WARNS AGAINST HOARDING, PANIC BUYING                                                                                                                             29-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                              Kwara State Government Taskforce has raided some filling stations within Ilorin metropolis, cautioning them against hoarding of fuel to impose needless hardship on the masses.

Leader of the taskforce and Chief of Staff, Government House, Prince Mahe Abdulkadir said that the raid was part of the government’s measures to address fuel scarcity in the state.

Prince Abdulkadir called on the people of the state to be patient and avoid panic-buying, saying that Federal Government is not trying to increase the prices of fuel.

The Chief of Staff also enjoined management of fuel stations dispensing the product across the state to properly organise their customers to ensure orderliness.

Some of the managers of filling stations visited, however, promised to avoid hoarding in the interest of the masses.

In their reactions, some of the motorists on queue appealed to the government to continue to monitor sales of fuel to check hoarding and reduce hardship occasioned by fuel scarcity in the state.
