FUEL SCARCITY CRIPPLES BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IN KANO STATE                                                                                                30-04-24

           By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The Current Fuel Scarcity Experienced in almost all parts of the Country has virtually crippled business, educational and other activities in the commercial hub center of Kano State.

Africa 247 correspondent who monitored the situation in Kano observed that their were long qeues of motorists and tricycles coupled with other machines that use premium motor sprit at filling stations seeking to buy the commodity.

While most of the streets in the Metropolitan were also deserted because many people have resolved to park their cars at home to lack of fuel ,while the black marketers sells one Gallon of Petrol at the Rate of Six thousand Naira.

Malam Bala Hassan and Musa Shehu are resident of Kano who spent over 10 hours in a que at a filling station in the metropolitan citt to buy premium motor sprit.

They express their dismay on the situation and called for urgent attention by the federal government,and other stakeholders involved in ensuring that they bring an end to fuel Scarcity.

Africa 247 correspondent also observed that students of both secondary and Tertiary Institutions have resolved to trecking as a result of means of transportation to their schools, because the commercial vehicles are no more available as much of them are at filling stations,while those provided by government can not do it alone .

When contacted the chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria Kano chapter Alhaji Gana Girigire attributed the shortage of the commodity to the NNPC.

” It is not our problem,we’ve send over a hundred trucks to various centers where we use to buy this commodity,but it is not available.
