FG, LABOUR, PRIVATE SECTOR TO RESUME NEGOTIATION ON MINIMUM WAGE ON TUESDAY                                                                                                                                        03-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage will reconvene on Tuesday 4th June, 2024, as the Federal Government and Organised Labour continues negotiation.

This is contained in a statement issued by Secretary of the Committee, Mr Ekpo Nta.

At their last meeting on Friday, the organized labour said the N60,000 offer for the new minimum wage was unacceptable in the face of inflation and high cost of living.

The joint National Executive Council, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) had declared indefinite nationwide strike on Friday to press home their demands on minimum wage and reversal of Electricity tariff to N65kwh.
