NLC STRIKE: PUBIC SCHOOLS, BANKS COMPLY, PRIVATE SCHOOLS SHUN STRIKE 03-06-24
By Sadiq Aminu As the Ongoing NLC Nation wide Strikes grasp over eight Hours this morning, public schools and financial institutions in Kano have totally comply with the Strike .
Africa 247 Correspondent who monitored the strike in Kano metropolitan city reports that public schools and Banks were closed up.
Meanwhile, Private school owners in Kano shun the strike action embarked upon by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC.
A proprietress who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they were not joining the strike as they stand to benefit nothing from the strike action.
According to the proprietress, “we are not joining the strike because we are private and they are not going to give us when they get the minimum wage. It is not as if they will share with us.
“Bring the children to school. If they now start disturbing us, then we will know what to do,” the proprietress said.
Africa 247 correspondent also observed compliance at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA, was shut down.
A source at the airport said domestic flights were shut down except those going on pilgrimage to Holy land.
