SENATOR ABDULAZIZ YARI  PROCURES 76 TRUCKS OF ASSORTED FERTILIZERS FOR FARMERS ACROSS THE STATE AT SUBSIDIZED PRICES.                                                                                                                                           05-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Former Zamfara State Governor and current Senator for Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara), has announced the provision of 76 trucks of assorted fertilizers for farmers across the state at subsidized prices.

In a Press release signed and made available to Africa 247 by the Chairman, Publicity Committee of Abdulaziz Yari political organization, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad (Danmadamin Birnin Magaji) said the announcement was made at a meeting held in Gusau, the state capital, on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Hon. Lawal M. Liman (Gabɗon Ƙaura), Chairman of the Distribution Committee and Head of A. A. Yari Political Organisation, revealed that 5 trucks of fertilizers will be allocated to each of the 8 Local Government Areas in Zamfara Central and North Senatorial Districts. While farmers in the 6 Local Government Areas of Zamfara West Senatorial District will receive 6 trucks each.

Hon. Liman explained that the subsidized fertilizers, which include NPK and Urea, typically cost between ₦40,000 and ₦45,000 per 50kg bag in the market. Through this initiative, they will be sold to farmers at a significantly reduced price of ₦20,000 per bag.

The subsidy aims to alleviate the shortage of fertilizers and their high market prices, making them more accessible to farmers across Zamfara State. The distribution plan ensures coverage for farmers in all 147 wards of the 14 Local Government Areas, regardless of political affiliations.

Hon. Liman urged distribution committee members to adhere strictly to the guidelines set forth by the provider. The Ulama Committee, which has been overseeing the distribution of foodstuffs provided by the Senator, will also implement the fertilizer subsidy project.
