ONDO COURT SCRAPS NEW 33 LCDAS 20-06-24
By Sadiq Aminu An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure has scrapped the newly created 33 Local Council Development Areas , LCDAs approved by the administration of late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The court declared the creation as unconstitutional and illegal.
Justice Adegboyega Adebusuoye held that the creation of the LCDAS did not comply with sections 7 and 8 of the 1999 constitution.
Africa 247 correspondent gathered that leaders of the four local governments in Akokoland had approached the court to challenge the creation of the LCDAs alleging marginalisation of the area.
