GOVERNOR ABBA KABIR ORDERS CRACKDOWN ON THUGGERY IN KANO                                                                                  22-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has directed security agencies to immediately quell the rising tide of thuggery and violence in parts of the Kano metropolis.

The Governor gave the order during the 15th weekly meeting of the Kano State Executive Council at the Government House.

According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Abba Kabir condemned the recent surge in thuggery and clashes involving Yan daba, a group of youths known for their violent activities.

He warned that the government will not tolerate any actions that threaten the peace and harmony enjoyed by law-abiding citizens.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to collaborating with security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the populace.

He also cautioned judges against releasing thugs, emphasizing the threat they pose to the welfare of the state’s residents.

Governor Abba Kabir instructed security agencies to focus on their mandated duty of safeguarding lives and properties, warning against involvement in matters beyond their designated responsibilities.

He assured the populace of the government’s commitment to their protection and requested their continued support and cooperation.
