CUSTOM OFFICIAL DIES WHILE ON OFFICIAL ENGAGEMENT AT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY 25-06-24
By Sadiq Aminu The House of Representatives has expressed sadness and regret at the passing away of an esteemed official of the Nigeria Customs Service who was at the National Assembly for an engagement with a House Committee.
In a Statement by the House of Representatives Spokesman Akintunde Rotimi, explains that the Custom official developed sudden health complications during an engagement with the House Committee, which occurred around 1.00pm on the 25th of June 2024.
According to the House spokesman despite the immediate and diligent efforts of first responders and medical personnel at the National Assembly Clinic, the official unfortunately passed away.
The Statement says out of respect for the family, the official’s name will not be disclosed at this time.
The House of Representatives extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased during this difficult time.
The green Chamber also recognizes the significant contributions he made to the Nigeria Customs Service and to the nation at large.
The House of Representatives emphasized that the House was ready to support efforts to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident and is cooperating fully with all relevant authorities to ensure all necessary protocols are followed.
