HOLD YOUR STATE GOVERNORS ACCOUNTABLE FOR STATE OF ECONOMY- APC                                                                                                                                                  22-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    Nigerians have been urged to hold their state governors accountable for the state of the economy has found itself in.

The Chairman, Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee, Mr. Tony Okocha, made the call while briefing the newsmen at the party headquarters in Abuja.

Mr Okocha stated that rather than going ahead with the planned protest, Nigerians should question their state governors on why they’re suffering despite the increased monthly allocation.

He alleged that failed politicians, who are planning to wrestle power from the ruling party through the backdoor are behind the planned nationwide protest.

“What are the reasons for the planned protests? That is the question we should begin to ask. The reason for the planned protest, I heard that they say there is hunger in the land. Is Tinubu the architect of hunger in the land?

“And I have asked the question, why are we not demonstrating, protesting against our governors?…The removal of fuel subsidy brought in money to the system and the President did not put the money in his pockets, he gave it out.

“I’m giving you a typical example now that those who are behind this are politicians who want to gain power through the backdoor, they should wait for 2027 to wrestle power from APC if they can.”

Okocha also urged the people not compare Nigeria to Kenya or Sudan, saying the circumstances and indices are different.

The APC chairman also debunked the rumors that the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike controls the party in Rivers State.
