PRESIDENT TINUBU RECEIVES FORMER SENATE PRESIDENT, PIUS ANYIM, WHO RECENTLY DEFECTED FROM PDP TO APC                                                                            24-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   President Bola Tinubu has received former Senate President, Pius Anyim, who recently defected from the PDP to the APC.

Mr. Anyim was led to President Tinubu by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who is also the Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum and Progressive Governors Forum.

They were accompanied by Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.

While explaining his reason for leaving the PDP, Senator Anyim said his urge to contribute to solving the problems facing the country propelled him into joining the APC.

He noted that the country was passing through turbulent times, stressing that it is the duty of true patriots to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

Governor Uzodinma had described the defection of Senator Anyim as timely.

He stressed the importance of unity and collective effort in tackling the country’s challenges, urging all political figures to prioritise national peace and progress, and to avoid unwarranted protests that could destabilise the country.
