FG URGED NOT TO SPARE CULPABLE NAHCON OFFICIALS                                                                                                                              25-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The federal government has been urged to thoroughly investigate the alleged mismanagement of funds rocking the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to return sanity to the system.

Former Grand Khadi, Kwara state Sharia court Justice Idris Haroon(RTD) made the call while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin.

He said officials found culpable of the scandal should not be spared in view of the magnitude of the issue.

Haroon noted that it was embarrassing that people who travelled to serve God will be the ones to violate God’s law.

He urged the new NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Sale Uthman, to return sanity to the commission and shun pecuniary gains.

Haroon, also appealed to Nigerians to frown at corruption and check its prevalence in the society as well as other acts of indecency in order to prevent the loss of respect for Nigerians in the outside world.

On the appointment of the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the retired Grand Kadi commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for maintaining hierarchy in the judiciary.

Haroon, charged the acting CJN as well as other judicial officers to endeavour to safeguard the judiciary in order to maintain social justice.
