YET TO BE IDENTIFIED GUNMEN ATTACKED THE SECRETARIAT OF OGBARU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF ANAMBRA STATE                                                                          30-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   Yet to be identified gunmen have attacked the Secretariat of Ogbaru Local government area of Anambra State.

The gunmen launched the attack at about five O’clock Friday morning setting some buildings within the headquarters on fire.

An eye witness who lives very close to the local government area, narrated that the gunmen numbering over thirty masked their faces while wielding heavy weapons as they matched towards the Secretariat.

The eye witness who pleaded anonymity told Africa 247 correspondent that the gunmen parked their vehicles at Akili Ozizor , then walked down to carryout the dastardly act.

Meanwhile the Police Command in Anambra state has confirmed the incident in a press statement.

Reacting to the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed that the attack was foisted by the gallant officers of the state, who resisted the gunmen Ikenga further explained that no life was lost in the attack, even though some property were affected in the Secretariat.

The Police Spokesman also added that joint security operation is still ongoing in the area.
