ZMSG DISPELS RUMOUR OF IT’S PLAN TO GIVE SOME NOTORIOUS BANDITS AND MEDIA PROMOTERS HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY                                                                           07-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Zamfara State government has described as false the information in circulation alleging that, the State Government gave or is planning to give some notorious bandits and media promoters huge amount of money under the guise of reconciliation efforts from the State Security Trust Fund.

The Secretary to the Zamfara State government, Malam Abubukar Nakwada made this known at a news briefing in Gusau.

Malam Nakwada noted that to set the records straight, the purported memo allegedly said to have originated from his office to the Executive Governor was entirely fake and mischievous.

According to him, Zamfara State Government under Governor Dauda Lawal has consistently announced its firm stance against negotiating with the bandit terrorist, stressing that, government still maintain the position that it would not negotiate with terrorists.

“Our administration has been unequivocal in its approach to addressing the security challenges facing our state”

Malam Abubakar Nakwada pointed out that, Zamfara State government have implemented strategic measures to combat the menace of banditry, and their efforts have always been guided by integrity, accountability, and unwavering commitment to the safety and well being of the people.

The Secretary to the state government explained that, the fabricated document and the baseless claims it contains were not only distracting but also attempt to erode the trust and confidence that the people of Zamfara have in their leadership and it efforts to restore peace and order.

“Gentlemen of the press, you may recall that the previous administrations have tried dialogue with bandits and it did not succeed. Unfortunately, it not only failed, but also complicated the problem by empowering these terrorists to become more daring which is backfiring today”

“How can we continue to repeat the same thing and expect different results?
That is absurd to say the least! We believe that this fake memo is part of the sinister attempts to undermine what we are making towards achieving lasting peace and security across the lengths and breadths of the st urge the public and the media to remain vigilant and not to fall prey to the deceitful tactics employed by those who wish to derail our mission”

“The briefing was to address yet another false information in circulation, alleging that the Zamfara State Government gave or is planning to give some notorious bandits and media promoters some huge amount of money under the guise of “reconciliation efforts” from the State Security Trust Fund”

“Our administration remains unwavering in its dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of our people, and we will spare no effort in ensuring the security and well-being of the people of Zamfara”

“We have also introduced Community Protection Guards known as Askarawa to assist the conventional security forces in the fight against banditry”

“Additionally, we have fortified our technical capabilities by deploying advanced surveillance systems and communication tools, which have significantly enhanced our ability to detect and respond to threats in real time”

Malam Abubakar Nakwada commended the efforts of gallant security agencies for the sacrifices they are making to secure the state, and assured government commitment to fostering a collaborative environment where community members and local law enforcement can work together seamlessly.

He emphasized that, Zamfara State government would continue to taking all the necessary measures within the ambit of the law to ensure the safety and security of it people.

The SSG added that, government would henceforth not fold its hands to watch some unpatriotic people continue misinforming the public.
