YOBE STATE SECURITY COUNCIL REVIEWS SECURITY SITUATION                                                                                                                  12-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Yobe State Security Council has conducted a review of the current security situation in order to strengthen safety measures across all communities in the state.

In a meeting chaired by Governor Mai Mala Buni, attendees discussed increased surveillance along the borders to prevent incursions, such as those experienced a few weeks ago.

After the meeting held in Damaturu, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), the Governor’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, briefed reporters on the new operational measures that have been implemented to enhance security across all local government areas in the state.

The council also endorsed a joint operation by security agencies aimed at clearing any potential Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the Mafa community before residents are permitted to return.

According to the Adviser, the council has tasked the security agencies with expediting the clearance operation and ensuring adequate security for farmers as they prepare for harvesting.

General Abdulsalam commended journalists for their support of the state government’s efforts in the fight against insurgency, encouraging them to consistently collaborate with authorities when reporting on security issues.
