OFFA ROBBERY: KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT EXPRESSES SATISFACTION OVER JUDGEMENTS                                                                                                                                 26-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Kwara State Government has hailed the judgment of the State High Court which convicted five criminals involved in the April 2018 armed robbery in Offa.

At least 33 innocent citizens, including pregnant women and nine policemen, were killed in the robbery.

A statement by the Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju, expresses the government’s satisfaction, describing the judgment as a triumph of truth and rule of law over evil and impunity.

It commends the firmness and erudition of the court, noting that history will not forget its forthrightness.

The statement lauds the resourcefulness, hard work, and commitment of the government team from the State Ministry of Justice for giving life to the case after the initial conspiracies to sabotage it.

The Kwara State Government, however, commiserated with the Offa community, families of the victims, and the police authorities on the death of their loved ones during the robbery incident.
