PDP IN EDO PROTEST OUTCOME of SEPTEMBER 21st GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION                                                                          02-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                Edo state Chapter of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP wants INEC to declare its Governorship Candidate in September 21st Governorship election, Dr Asue Ighodalo the authentic winner of the election.
Some PDP chieftains and supporters made the remark during a protest at the INEC Head office at Aduwawa, Benin City.

The protest which temporarily disrupted vehicular movement at the Ramat park axis of the ever busy Auchi – Benin expressway way, had the protesters singing solidarity songs holding several placards with inscription ” APC stole PDP mandate, they must return it” ” Edo people won the election but INEC and police collided to change the result”, “INEC why did you manipulate the IREV results” Dr Aseu Ighodalo the Governor we know” among others.
Addressing the protesters, Edo State Chairman of the PDP, Dr Tony Azegbeme said the protest was to inform the world that INEC changed the result of the election insisting that PDP won the election.
Dr Azeigbeme called on INEC to do the needful by immediately declaring the PDP Governorship candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo winner of the election alleging that INEC manipulated results of some of the local Government announced.

Also Speaking, Director General, Asue Ogie Campaign organisation, Mr Matthew Idioyekhewe said PDP won the Governorship polls stressing that they will continue the protest until the mandate given to Dr Asue Ighodalo was realised.

Earlier in a remark, Deputy Director General Asue Ogie Campaign organisation, Reverend Olu Martins who canvassed sacking of INEC electoral officers of Egor, Oredo and ikpoba Okha noted they would continue to protest until Dr Asue Ighodalo was declared winner of the election.

Revd Martins said PDP and it’s leadership would not compromise in recovering their mandate.
