The inferno occured at about 7 pm at gidan Inuwa Mai Mai Bayajidda Street affected buildings at the middle of the market.

Speaking to newsmen the chairman Kantin Kwari traders market association Ambassador Balarabe Tatari explained that the fire was quenched by the federal fire service, Kano state fire service, private companies and reinforcement from Sabon gari, Dawanau and Singa markets.

He highlighted that, the DSS, Njgeria police force and other relevant authorities are on ground to provide security around the market.
