ECOWAS PEACE FUND MEETS TO CONSIDER PROJECTS FOR IMPLEMENTATION                                                                                         17-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The ECOWAS Peace Fund Technical Committee has met in Abuja to review project proposals submitted for funding consideration.

The meeting brought together representatives from various directorates within the ECOWAS Commission, including Peacekeeping and Regional Security, Political Affairs, and Humanitarian and Social Affairs.

The committee’s primary task is to evaluate how the proposals align with the objectives of the ECOWAS Conflict Prevention Framework, with a focus on peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and regional stability.

According to statement by the ECOWAS Commission, the review is a critical step in selecting projects that will enhance peace and security across West Africa.

This process is part of ECOWAS’s strategic management of the Peace Fund, which aims to support initiatives that are in line with the region’s Vision 2050 of peace and prosperity for all.
