GOVERNOR LAWAL CONSTITUTES GOVERNING COUNCIL’S FOR THE SIX ZAMFARA STATE TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS 25-10-24
By Sadiq Aminu Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the constitution of the Governing Councils for six state-owned tertiary institutions.
The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada announced this in a statement through his Senior Special Assistant on Media Sulaiman Ahmad Tudu says the Councils are to commence operation immediately.
Malam Abubukar Nakwada said Governor Lawal anticipated the councils to work with utmost dedication and integrity to ensure the implementation of right policies towards improving the educational standards of the institutions in line with the Rescue Agenda and best practices.
He urged the Councils to ensure effective management of tertiary institutions and turnaround the fortunes of education in Zamfara state,
“Recall that in November 2023, Governor Lawal constituted visitation panels to thoroughly examine the conditions of all the state-owned tertiary institutions which is first of its kind in the history of Zamfara state”
“The panels submitted their reports in February and part of their recommendations was the constitution of the Governing Councils for these institutions which have been adopted by the white paper committee”
Professor Abubakar Aliyu Liman is the governing council Chairman of Zamfara State University Talata Mafara, Professor Shehu Ismaila Tsafe is for Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata Mafara while Dr Muhammad Bawa Gummi is the Chairman for College of Agricultural Science and Technology, Bakura
Others are College of Education Maru and the Chairman is Professor Tukur Adamu, while for college of Nursing Sciences Gusau Murtala Garba Tsafe and College of Health Science and Technology is Professor Jafaru Makau Kaura.
