PRESIDENT TINUBU TOLD THE G20 SUMMIT IN THAT AFRICA’S EFFORTS TOWARDS SELF-RELIANCE ARE BEING HAMPERED BY NUMEROUS PROBLEMS                                                                                                                19-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 President Bola Tinubu has told the G20 Summit in Brazil that Africa’s efforts towards self-reliance are being hampered by numerous problems bedevilling the Continent.

Making a presentation at the opening of the Summit, the President said insecurity had remained the dominant factor impeding development on the Continent.

He noted with concern that the problems had equally affected the advancement of education on the Continent, making it difficult for both guardians and governments to meet their obligations.

Citing the difficulty in running the government in Nigeria, President Tinubu said poverty-driven problems were slowing down developmental initiatives.

President Tinubu called on the developed world to honour the promises already adopt at the summit of easing the pain on Africa.

He warned that the neglect of Africa was a danger to the rest of the world, urging the developed world to build an inclusive economy that will take into acoount demographic density.

The President said the fight against hunger and poverty was not a matter of choice, but that of priority for Nigeria, reflecting that the country has over 70 percent youth population needing education and jobs.

The President told the summit to urgently take action against factors breeding hunger and poverty to prevent the detestable results that would emanate from their impact.
