NCAA RECERTIFIES NNAMDI AZIKIWE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, ABUJA AND MURTALA MUHAMMED INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, LAGOS                                                                                                                           22-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                            The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has recertified the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja (NAIA) and Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The Acting Director-General, Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo while handing over both certificates to the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Olubunmi Kuku in Abuja, said, the recertification of the aerodromes after meeting stringent conditions is a significant milestone in aviation safety and security.

In her response after receiving the certificates, Mrs Kuku noted that, this milestone achievement comes after a rigorous process conducted by the NCAA to ensure compliance with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

While expressing pride and gratitude for the hard work of her team, emphasized that the recertification was long overdue, as the previous certificates had expired in 2020.

Mrs. Kuku also acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, whose renewed hope and five-point agenda, align with FAAN’s mission to revitalize the aviation sector.

According to her, with the successful recertification, FAAN aims to provide a safer and more efficient air travel experience for all passengers and stakeholders.

The agency pledged its commitment to meeting and exceeding international standards in the aviation industry.
