YOBE STATE GOVERNOR APPROVES N70,000 MINIMUM WAGE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS                                                                                 23-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved a N70,000 minimum wage for state civil servants, effective December 2024.

This was announced in a statement issued by the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Muhammad.

The approval follows recommendations from the Minimum Wage Committee, chaired by the Secretary to the State Government, Alh Baba Mallam Wali.

The committee also recommended a reconciliation of local government finances to ensure a smooth transition to the new minimum wage structure for local government employees. This reconciliation process is nearing completion and will soon be submitted for approval.

The government urged civil servants to reciprocate this gesture with improved efficiency and service delivery.
