OVER 960,000 UNDER 15 MONTHS TARGETS FOR MALARIA VACCINATION IN KEBBI STATE                                                             09-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Kebbi State Primary Healthcare Developments Agency, says it’s targeting over nine hundred and sixty thousand children under fifteen months for tge first round of malaria Viccine in the state.

The State Health Promotion officer, Yusuf Umar Sauwa, stated this while speaking to Africa247 shortly after a stakeholders meeting in terms of malaria rollout in Kebbi State.

Umar Sauwa, stated that, the aimed of the meeting was to see how best the agency can engage the media, traditional and religious leaders as well civil society organizations to sensitize and educate the public on the malaria vaccines rollout.

According to him, malaria prevelance is higher as well as mortality rate of under five children and pregnant women in Kebbi State.

He said, the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, prioritized the number of doses of the vaccines to Kebbi State due to the high rate of specie of mosquito that transmit malaria.
