KANO STATE HISBAH BOARD ARRESTS COUPLE FOR SECRET MARRIAGE 30-01-25
By Sadiq Aminu A young couple in Kano State has been arrested by the Hisbah Board for secretly getting married without their parents’ knowledge or consent.
According to Sheikh Mujahid Aminudeen Abubakar, the deputy commander general of the Kano State Hisbah Board, the couple got married at a recreational center after someone facilitated the payment of the bride price.
Abubakar condemned the secret marriage, describing it as un-Islamic and unacceptable.
“The board has arrested the couple and will continue to investigate and arrest their friends and accomplices who aided the secret marriage.”
Abubakar praised those who informed the board about the secret marriage and urged the public to report similar incidents to the relevant authorities.
