5 NEW COMMISSIONERS SWORN-IN TO REPLACE THOSE EARLIER RELIEVED FROM THEIR DUTIES INTO THE PLATEAU STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL 04-02-25
By Sadiq Aminu Five new Commissioners have been sworn-in to replace those earlier relieved from their duties into the Plateau State Executive Council.
The event was held at the Victoria Gowon Hall, Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
Performing the Swearing-in ceremony, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, charged them to justify their appointments by ensuring that they key into the Time is Now ideology for the transformation of the State.
Governor Mutfwang stressed that the replacement was part of the usual Government routine aimed at reinvigorating its activities to reflect the values and aspirations of its people.
He announced plans to re-signed portfolios to the various commissioners and revealed the merger of the Ministry of Education which earlier had that for Secondary and Tertiary in addition to the creation of the Ministry for Livestock Development.
Governor Mutfwang also used the occasion to formally inaugurate the Governing Boards of Tertiary Institutions in the State, were he also admonished them to use their various wealth of experiences and connections towards making the Institutions a Centres of Excellence.
Responding on behalf of the sworned-in Chairmen and members of the various Boards, Board Chairman of the Plateau State University, PLASU Professor William Qurix described their appointments as a milestone towards the development of the educational sector of the state, said the councils would focus on creating the education of the future and not just the future of education.
Earlier, Governor Caleb Mutfwang formally received on a courtesy call by the Newly posted General Officer Commanding 3rd Armoured Division and Commander, Operation Safe Haven, Major General Folusho Oyinyola.
Receiving the GOC and Commander, Operation Safe Haven, Governor Caleb Mutfwang who extol the leadership qualities exhibited by his predicessor, Major General Abdulsallam Abubakar in forstering peaceful coexistence in the State, charged the newly posted officer to build on his successes.
The governor promised to create and provide the enabling environment to ensure the GOC succeeds on his sojourn in the state.
He also implored him to not only improve on the kinetic form of sustaining peace but to also embrace the non- Kinetic measures.
Responding, the newly posted General Officer, Major General Folusho Oyinyola reassured the Plateau State Governor that he intend to build on the achievements of his predicessor, pledging to be fair but firm on all matters related to security.
The newly posted GOC and Commander, Operation Safe Haven resumed duty on the 24th of January, 2025.
