PRESIDENT TINUBU REJECTS ESTABLISHMENT OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION IN ADAMAWA STATE 04-02-25
By Sadiq Aminu President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declined to assent to a bill seeking for the establishment of Federal University of Education Numan, Adamawa State.
The President in a letter to the House of Representatives and read in the floor of the House by the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Mr. Benjamin Kalu who presided over the Plenary, President Tinubu, explained that section 22 of the bill accords the authority to consent the disposal of land to the governor and not the President as ought to be the case in respect of land belonging to a Federal Government entity in the case of Universities.
President Tinubu also said in the letter that he declined an assent to the Bill because of proposition of Award in Degree was omitted in section twenty five sub section four B.
The House of Representatives last year passed a Bill for the Establishment of Federal University of Education Numan in Adamawa State.
