KWARA COUNCIL OF ULAMA CALLS FOR JUSTICE OVER THE MURDER OF A STUDENT HAFSOH 25-02-25
By Sadiq Aminu Kwara state Council of Ulama has called for Justice in the recent alleged murder of Hafsoh Lawal a student of Kwara state College of Education Ilorin ,by AbdulRahman Bello for ritual.
The Executive Secretary of the Council, retired Grand Kadi Kwara state Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Salihu Muhammad made the call while addressing newsmen at NUJ press Centre in Ilorin.
He said the incident of the gruesome murder of the young lady came as a rude shock to the entire council and the state in general.
According to him the council has expended a lot of energy and resources toward putting an end to such ugly incidents.
Justice Muhammad explained that the Ilorin Emirate is known for it propagation of Islamic knowledge from time immemorial.
He said this singular practice had earned the state it name of the state of harmony.
Justice Muhammad noted that the council under the leadership of the Emir of Ilorin has been given the power to licence Mosques and ensure only Imam’s with good character are allowed to lead the congregation.
He said the alleged Murder of Hafsoh for ritual purposes by Abdulrahman is against Islam, adding that Ilorin people are not known for ritual killings.
The executive secretary said the council would convene a meeting of Imam’s and other Muslim leaders in the state to educate them on the proper way to practice.
