NAO TASK STAFF ON EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION OF GOVERNMENT PROGRAMMES 26-02-25
By Sadiq Aminu Staff of the National Orientation Agency, NOA have been tasked with taking ownership of government programmes and persuading the public to fully participate in them.
The new North Central Zone Director of NOA, Dr. Pricilia Gwando-Aluor, gave this charge while addressing staff of the Kwara State directorate of the agency in Ilorin the state capital.
Dr. Gwando-Aluor, who acknowledged the challenges faced by staff, especially in the area of office space and equipment, however, urged them not to view their employment solely as a source of income, but as a responsibility to effectively communicate government policies to the public through value orientation.
“Agencies, organizations, nations worldwide have had to address the issue of values as the foundation of moving forward.
“Our constitution has the core values in chapter two– and so it is the personnel, the structure that are the driving force of this agenda,” she added.
She assured the staff of the NOA Director, Mallam Issa Onilu’s commitment to ensuring their better welfare and working conditions.
Dr Gwando-Aluor appealed to Nigerians to have faith in the Bola Tinubu led administration and support its programmes and policies geared towards a stronger nation and better life for citizens.
The NOA Zonal Director also embarked on an inspection tour of the organization’s offices in the 16 local government areas of Kwara State.
In an address, Kwara State Director of the agency, Alhaji Olurotimi Abdulganiyu, welcomed the creation of zonal directorates and selection of Kwara State as the headquarters of the North Central Zone.
He described Dr. Gwando-Aluor as deserving of her position due to her extensive experience in leading the organization in various capabilities for over three decades and pledged support of staff to enable her carry out her assignment successfully.
States under the North Central Zonal Directorate of NOA include Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue, and the FCT.
