ABDUCTED SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE MD/CEO NDDC REGAINS FREEDOM                                                                      10-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu.                                                    The Special Assistant to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Loveday Akari, who was abducted by suspected kidnappers on Friday has regained his freedom.

Reports say he was freed after intensive manhunt by security agencies, community youths and vigilantes in a forest where he was taken into and held hostage with the suspects arrested by vigilantes.

Mr. Akari, who is the Special Assistant to the Managing Director of the NDDC on Domestic Matters was kidnapped last Friday afternoon by suspected kidnappers in Yenagoa while trying to board a boat to travel to Ayokoro Community in Ogbia LGA , the home town of his boss for an engagement.

Wife of Mr. Akari, Mrs. Illami Akari who confirmed the development thanked the government, the NDDC, security agencies, community youths and all well wishers for their efforts, prayers and concern that resulted in the freedom of her husband.
