A LARGE SCALE RANCH TO BE ESTABLISHED IN NIGER STATE UNDER NIGERIA – BRAZIL BILATERAL AGREEMENT                                                                                                             24-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       As part of the Nigeria-Brazil Two Point Five Billion dollars Bilateral Agreement on improved livestock investment, a large scale modern ranch is to be established in Niger State.

The Minister of Livestock Development, Mr Idi Maiha Made this known in Minna when he led some Brazilian investors on tour of sites for the project.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil attended by Nigerian delegation led by President Bola Tinubu late last year.

To see to the realization of the agreement this is the second term the Brazilian investors will be visiting Niger State.

The State is expected to provide one point two million hectares of land for the project.

The Minister of Livestock Development Mr Idi Maiha, expressed confidence that the partnership would develop the genetics of all livestock and improved meat processing enterprise in the country.

Mr Maiha said to achieve the objectives of the initiative, the ministry held discussions with pastoralists organisations and would remain open for collaboration with sub nationals.

The Niger Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago represented by his Deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba dismissed the fear of insecurity to the potential investors and any challenge that could hamper the commencement of the project.

On behalf of the investors, the Director of International Expansion to one of the Brazilian Firms, Mr Fabio Maia said the companies would analyze the sites visited before making the next move.

The investors were conducted round the area marked as meat processing zone at Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna and Tagwai Dam among other facilities.
